Rempstone Steam Rally began in 1954 this is the oldest surviving Rally in the East Midlands. The show has grown tremendously from that first event behind the Beeby farm and has moved venue at least twice since then until it now hosts almost 500 exhibits including about 40 Steam Engines at Turn Post Farm.

There will be a Christmas market with several new ideas – including a Santa's Grotto and a mini-train ride – alongside the returning outdoor ice rink, which will create a "winter wonderland" feel.
Meanwhile the food and shopping portion of the market will have what city planners describe as a Dickensian-style food and gift market, complete with an Olde English tavern.
"What we want to create is a festival-in-the-street sort of atmosphere," said Paul Kennedy of the Market Square Group, which is organising the portion of the event that will appear in Smithy Row.
