Nottingham's German Market Date: Nov - December, 2011 Time: 10.00am onwards Location: Nottingham's German Market There will be a Christmas market with several new ideas – including a Santa's Grotto and a mini-train ride – alongside the returning outdoor ice rink, which will create a "winter wonderland" feel. Meanwhile the food and shopping portion of the market will have what city planners describe as a Dickensian-style food and gift market, complete with an Olde English tavern. "What we want to create is a festival-in-the-street sort of atmosphere," said Paul Kennedy of the Market Square Group, which is organising the portion of the event that will appear in Smithy Row.
