Book a fishing lesson with our site expert Michael Corker. Who Caters to all ages and abilities. Whether a complete novice or looking for basic skills / advice on tackle / rig setup or just been away from the sport for a while and need a refresher give Michael a call.

About Michael

I am a Qualified Level 2 Angling Coach, 1st4 Sport/ A.D.B. 2010/11, current DBS check and first aid trained.

I started fishing at the age of 4 with my dad, who spent his time teaching me the basics of catching roach, perch and silver bream from my local canal. From there, as the saying goes, I was hooked. My dad taught me all he knew, however, my desire to learn more progressed through talking about how to catch fish with school friends, reading the ‘Angling Times’ and quizzing other adults on the bank. I was a sponge for information and became interested in fishing the occasional match competition. I fished junior matches, representing my school in national team competitions and moved on to fishing adult matches. Throughout this time I have had the privilege of fishing many of our water ways, seeing some lovely parts of England! I still remain a keen angler and match fish for the same local team throughout the year. I live locally.

In 1994 I completed my training in Youth Work and have since worked as a full time youth worker for Leicestershire County Council. I have years of experience of working with all members of our community and I have coached angling to children and young people individually or in groups. Recently, I have changed my career path and have established myself as an independent youth worker and angling coach.

Before setting up at the lake

Residents: 6am until sunset BST - 7am until sunset Autumn/Winter (GMT)
Members: Reception times until sunset
From: 8.00am - April – September
From: 8.00am - October – April

All nets must be dipped at reception on arrival (minimum 1 minute)
No Keep Nets on any Lake

All anglers now require a membership to fish on our complex from 1st April 2022.

When purchasing a membership, please provide a copy of your identification

Driving licence or passport
A copy of your Rod Licence

(Copies can be taken in reception)

The membership fee is £15.00 per person for 24 months and starts from the date of purchase. Membership is required for all anglers age 16 and above.

Junior anglers 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult member at all times.

Residents staying on the complex do not require a fishing membership as this is included in the stay.

Lodge Residents

Fishing is FREE for all lodge residents. Free fishing tickets need to be collected from reception.

Toilets: Situated near lakes 2 & 4 (inc disabled toilets)
Car Parks: Lakes 2, 3, 6, 7 & Parklands

Fishing Rules

All anglers now require a membership to fish on our complex. These can be purchased for £15 per person for 24 months at reception. Residents do not require a fishing membership.
NO keep nets
NO Nuts, Blood worm or jokers
NO Cat or Dog meat
ALL nets to be disinfected at reception
ALL day tickets to purchased at reception
NO fishing or setting up before tickets are purchased
NO pole fishing on Lake 2 & Parkland Lake
Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult (please see our adult only policy)
Take all litter, discarded line home or place in a litter bin provided
All anglers must stay within the perimeter of the lakes and car parks
Strictly no night fishing
Floating baits may be used, but particular care must be taken not to hook water fowl
Floating baits NOT to be used on Parkland
Hemp, boilies and ground bait may be used in moderation to avoid pollution
No spinning
Maximum of 2 rods per person
Tackle must be with drawn from water if unattended
Litter in the vicinity of the anglers peg is considered your responsibility
Please be considerate when using buzzers: please turn the sound down as noise travels
All fish being photographed must be held over an unhooking matt at all times - photographs should be taken kneeling down under no circumstances should you be standing up
All fish must be returned to the water alive
Barbless hooks only any barbed hooks including micro barbs are strictly BANNED
Do not disturb wildlife, please advise a member of staff as soon as possible should any wild life become hurt or injured, hooked or entangled with line
No swimming
Please treat fish and anglers with respect
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, please clean up after them
Our tearoom is closed for the first two weeks of January for annual maintenance & staff holidays. Please ask reception for current dates.
