The Royal Centre, based in the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, incorporates both the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. Both venues play host to a diverse range of shows and events including the very best in family entertainment, musicals, drama, dance, ballet, comedy, opera and classical, contemporary and pop music.
We are a small independent amateur theatre, located in the centre of Nottingham. The Theatre is owned and operated by The Lace Market Theatre Trust Ltd., which is a registered charity. The Theatre has a good reputation for its varied programme of modern and traditional drama, comedy and occasional musical, produced to a high standard by members of the trust.
The Little Theatre is owned and operated by Leicester Drama Society Ltd, an amateur non-profit making organisation founded in 1922 for the furtherance and study of the art of drama. LDS survives without public subsidy and presents a repertoire of plays of all types throughout the year. With its rehearsal rooms, Studio, bar and library, the theatre forms a social meeting place for those interested in the theatre.
Leicester’s state of the art theatre, designed by world renowned architect Rafael Viñoly is based in the heart of what the City Council calls the new “Cultural Quarter” on Rutland Street. Curve features two auditoria, one with 750 fixed seats while a 350 seat auditorium provides a versatile smaller space with its own power flying system. When the 32 tonne steel walls separating the stage and the foyer are lifted, the stage is visible from street level. The glass façade encloses an open plan foyer with views onto the café, bars, backstage area, and across the stage.
De Montfort Hall is Leicester’s largest entertainment venue and has been serving the city with quality live acts since 1913. Our programme ranges from jazz, ballet, comedy and opera to world and roots music and West End musicals. We are particularly proud of our classical season which is headed by the renowned Philharmonia Orchestra who have been resident with us since 1997
New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester’s original museum has wide-ranging collections and displays spanning the natural and cultural world. Located on the historic New Walk area of the city, our exhibitions feature works from our collections and touring exhibitions from National Museums. A family friendly day-out, the galleries include Egyptians, Wild Space, World Arts and Fine Art gallery displays include works by Modern and Old Masters including works by Hogarth and Francis Bacon.
Leicester Jazz is the brand name for jazz development activities funded by Leicester City Council and East Midlands Jazz. These activities aim to provide, support and encourage jazz and related music in Leicester and Leicestershire. Leicester Jazz is currently managed by The Y on behalf of a group of local Promoters and venues.
