Open All Year

Fishing is open to the public throughout the year. Day tickets and memberships are available from reception, and gates open at 7:45am for day visitors.

Tickets be can purchased from reception from 8am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 8am-4pm on Sunday.

All nets must be dipped before fishing, and tickets must be purchased from reception before setting up.

Several lakes offer convenient parking close to the pegs, and there are toilets (including disabled access) near Lakes 2 and 4. Whether you’re here for a quick cast or a full day’s fishing, everything is set up to make your visit relaxed and simple.

The Lakes Bar & Tearoom is just a short walk away, serving breakfast, lunch, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks. Takeaway tea, coffee and snacks are also available for anglers on the go.

It’s the perfect place to warm up in winter or enjoy a cold drink in summer after a day on the bank.

With cosy corners inside, peaceful outdoor seating and a welcoming atmosphere all year round, The Lakes Bar & Tearoom is a place to slow down, enjoy the moment and make yourself completely at home.

To keep our lakes safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone, please follow the rules below. All anglers agree to these rules when purchasing a ticket.

General Rules

  • Membership is required for all anglers aged 16+ (residents excluded).
  • All tickets and memberships must be purchased from reception before setting up.
  • Juniors aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult member at all times.
  • All nets must be dipped at reception on arrival (minimum 1 minute).
  • No keep nets on any lake.
  • Fishing is permitted from allocated pegs only.
  • Please respect other anglers and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Alcohol is permitted in moderation; no excessive drinking on the lakes.
  • No littering. Please use bins provided or take waste away with you.

Tackle & Bait Rules

  • Barbless hooks only.
  • Maximum line strength: suitable for lake type and fish welfare.
  • No fixed leads or tether rigs.
  • No braided mainline (hooklength braid is permitted).
  • Landing nets must be used at all times.
  • Unhooking mats must be used on specimen lakes.

Bait Restrictions:

  • Groundbait in moderation.
  • No nuts (including tiger nuts).
  • No live baiting.
  • No excessive loose feeding.

Fish Care

  • Handle fish with wet hands only.
  • Keep fish low over the mat when unhooking.
  • Return fish safely and promptly to the water.
  • Do not stand while holding fish for photos.
  • Report any fish showing signs of injury or distress to staff.

Lake Conduct

  • No reserving pegs.
  • No wading or entering the water.
  • Dogs must be kept on leads and under control at all times.
  • Please keep all gates closed behind you.
  • Smoking allowed only in designated areas; no cigarette ends on the ground.

Operating Hours

  • Fishing from dawn until sunset (time varies by season).
  • Please leave the lakeside promptly at closing time.

Enforcement

Failure to follow the rules may result in you being asked to leave the fishery without refund. Our staff patrol the lakes regularly to ensure fish welfare and visitor safety.
