Parkland Lake
Parkland Lake
Parkland Lake is our newest specimen carp water, stocked with beautiful commons and mirrors up to 26lb, with the main stock ranging between 17lb and 22lb. At 4.2 acres, it provides the perfect environment for continued growth over the coming years. Set slightly away from the main complex, the lake is peaceful and scenic, with two central islands and deep water originally designed for a trout lake.
Location
Parkland Lake is the first water you’ll see after entering through the main iron gates. Access is via the Southern Meadows touring area, heading towards the old railway bridge.
The Railway Bridge
The nearby bridge once carried the Great Northern & London North Western Joint Railway, part of the Harby and Stathern to Medbourne line. Opened in 1879 and closed to regular traffic in 1953, the route once served Melton Mowbray North, Great Dalby and John O’Gaunt stations.
